Justin Mitchell concentrates his practice on marine, energy, transportation and commercial matters.  Mr. Mitchell has a particular interest in admiralty and maritime law, especially the legal issues that affect seafarers.

Mr. Mitchell graduated with honors as a Kings Point Scholar from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.  He earned his Juris Doctor as well as a Graduate Diploma in Civil Law from the Louisiana State University Law Center.  Mr. Mitchell has also pursued graduate studies in Transportation Engineering at Vanderbilt University and Maritime Law through Tulane University with the Aegean Institute in Rhodos, Greece.

Prior to being called to the bar, Mr. Mitchell worked as a Merchant Mariner or Naval Officer aboard an articulated tug barge, container ships, an offshore supply vessel (OSV), a ro-ro ship, a break bulk ship, a seismic research vessel, and an amphibious assault ship.  He holds an active United States Coast Guard license, STCW ‘95, and Merchant Mariner’s document as an Able Seaman.
